Lars (Tribus) Land

You may remember Lars Tribus from such teams as Chumba Wumba :). He has been an East Coast Downhill pinner since the 90's. Racing is not his full time job anymore though, he now lives a dual life of responsibility and play, works by day, rides whenever possible. I don't know too much about Lars, except from the stories Bryn told me from his couple of days he spent at his house in New Jersey before the US Open. I gather that there must be something strange in New Jersey water, they are nutz...

Mountain States Cups

If you know the history behind racing in America, you'll know that Yeti Cycles has been supporting racing for a long time. Last year, Chris Conroy (Yeti Owner, Race enthusiast, Burrito patron, and Title sponsor of Mountain States Cups series) stepped up to the plate, and bought the Mountain States Cups to keep a competitve gravity race circiut alive in America. Here is an interview with the Man himself, Conroy....

angelfire 4x and DH

Chris Powell won his first 4x Norba National at Angelfire today!! I was told, Privateer holeshot from lane three. Powell with a growl!!. He is hard to recognize these days in white and grey Avent kit, but that must be the secret to his steath. Powell 1st, Ec 2, Crusher 3rd?, 4th Dale?? I think.

Rando Won his first DH Norba this weekend too. Guess you know who to look out for on the next pedalfest track.Nice job. Jareds know how to pedal, ask Gravesy about Angelfire, he almost won the world cup there a couple years back. Littermag.com for photos and more...

Niner, roger that..

I went flying today, for fun, with an ol friend who has his own plane and a hanger!! Been meaning to go with him for awile, so today was the day- San Juan Islands, for lunch and to try to spot some whales. Guess I can't get enough- This was different though, were able to throw bikes in the back, have lunch, check out the sites, and go home, and it only took like 45 min to an hour each way by plane, easy. That is normally a 3-5 hr car ride and a ferry. Even got a Bird's eye view of my neighborhood and downtown seattle on the way back. Whales were hiding all day, Clever Beasts:). Imagine the possibilities for bike riding with this system. You could park at any airport, unload, and head towards any trail. Bellingham takes 28 minutes to get to. Last picture is the lake down the hill from my house. Niner for Ninner?, Duncan gets it, anywho...c ya

Mission from Mars

Europe has never really felt that far away, till a day(s) like today. 29 hrs total to get home. Not fun when you're sick. Good time to stare into nothingness, and contemplate how much wild pig was consumed the past week while in Portugal.

Lisbon Downtown

Peaty,,, 6 wins in a row, not too shabby. Just when you think, wow, what a lot of pressure to try for 6, he straight dominated the cobblestone steets of Downtown Lisbon. Starting in a castle with a view of the ocean, this experience is priceless. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face all day. Downhill isn't my forte, but this is so much fun....Here's a clip from the big screen of Bryn's run

VIgo DH Final

....Just saw Voullioz win a rally car stage, or race? on Eurosport, what a legend!!...

Anyway, Frenchie and Marc Beaumont won DH today. Women's race had dry weather, as did the first 20 men down the hill, which included Marc Beaumont, who had a crash yesterday to qualify 70th or something. Not an ideal way to win, weather changes a lot of things, but he is a credible rider none the less. SO congrats to them.

Vigo 4x Final

Last night was a learning experience. Sometimes getting beat is the best motivator in the world, and a reality check. I got snapped in the random start, bad, and Anneke took the victory. She rode well, left me no room. I will be back with avengence though:) couple riding photos from dirt.

VIGO 4x practice

Had 4x practice last night. The track is so fun to ride by yourself. More than one person at a time seems really sketchy, just because the first straight is narrow, jumps are small, one line, and you are charging super fast into everything, including weaving through rocks. It's like two different tracks smushed together. The top is full dh style, where the bottom is manmade, more like normal. Lot of the jumps are built kinda funny with steep backsides, but not too bad. Dh riders are looking really comfortable, as is prokop on his hardtail. He and I now have matching helmets, jerseys, and bars,,,we're like twins, he's just slightly faster:)

Espanol

Vigo, Spain is my favorite World Cup stop of the year. Love this place, it is so beautiful- in the hills above the ocean. 4x track is insane, like Joel Bain.

Fontucky Sunday

Bryn started the day well by setting the fastest time of the day in DH qualifying- keeping momentum from his win yesterday. Finals he said he was on "a solid run", only to have a mechanical half way down. That is how downhill seems to go, you just never know. Anyway, the wind was pretty strong, and the track blown out, hot, and dusty. Cody Warren and Kathy Pruitt took respectable victories against some world class competitors. USA on the map again:)

GT Dominates

Bryn and I both won 4x today!!!!. Good day in the GT camp. Bryn had a tough final with EC, Holmes, and Chris Powell, but rode really smart, smooth lines. He made 3 passes, from last to first,,, not bad, so pumped for him.
