NBL Grands- UCI Points

Night race in a pro format for the UCI round, Jr. and Elite only. Nice. The actual NBL Grands are tomorrow for the titles, but I'm out. Off to Vail, CO for the Jeep final...

Track here in Louisville was pretty basic, but smooth and fast. I was feeling pretty solid, good first straight, won all my motos, the semi, and finished 2nd in the final. Lots of fast girls too. Had some bumping down the first straight in the final and had to pull from behind :) . Stephanie Berragon won, I was 2nd, Kim Hyashi 3rd. Dunno after that. Amanda Gieving was in there, Arielle Martin, Samantha Cools, Tanya Bailey from Aus, maybe Erica Short?? Can't remember it all.

Men's race Kyle Bennett won, then Stumpy, Then Mikey Day . Donny Robinson had a crash in the semi. Dunno who else was in the main, sorry, maybe Afro Bob 5th. Good day to be a GT bike though, 3 podiums:)

Alise Post won jr. women, Logan Collins jr. men. Joey Bradford was back racing after a couple weeks off his broken hand, but he was upgraded from the little Jr. Dominator to Elite. He has what it takes to be up there, just needs a bit of experience and his hand to be 100%. Jr. classes only had one heat for both, kinda weak. Maybe they are all more worried about titles than UCI points.

Don't know how many of you know the history of BMX, but back in the day, like 80's, there were a few women like Sheri Elliott, Leigh Donavan, and this lady Deanna Jamieson (Edwards). http://www.myspace.com/deannajamieson. She Was the real deal, first woman to be on GT and to make women's racing Pro. Anyway, she took 18 years off, but is racing again:) Pretty cool to meet her!! Legends are always good to have around. Guess she might be in the BMX hall of fame this year?

Here is Eric Rupe's prototype gt , race ready for tomorrow. Good luck.

Thanks to Romero, GT, Red Bull, Oakley, Bryn, and other sponsors.

Big day, gotta get to sleep for a 4:30 wake up call.
