last day of the otter..

Today was the Pro downhill event. I didn't get to go out and watch finals cause I was teaching a women's clinic
, but the word on the street was that it was similar to last year's pedalfest, which means if you are not coughing, burning, or about to vomit by the end, you didn't go hard enough :). Track looked really blown out and loose, with blasting wind in your face, it's extra nice heading into open uphill parts of this downhill course.,,
Minnaar's weekend. He won yesterday's slalom and downhill today. That is triumphant after being broken most all of the off-season like he was. 2min 11sec winning time. Kovarik 2nd and seems more switched on this year, Leov 3rd, Peaty 4th, Rennie 5th. Big fit guys usually do well here, but this race is not really the best indication of what's to come. With only 12 turns, uphill sections, and wood bridges they do what they can with that hillside. Bryn said he had an awesome run and was 31st, Sam Hill was like 53rd, Josh Bryceland 70?, Brenden 68th, Ruaridh Cunningham DH jr world champ 83rd, etc. But once a technical world cup course shows up, expect a few more contenders to be in the mix. Not to take anything away from these guys, a good bike rider is a good bike rider, they adapted their game for a more sprinty, easy course and proved they can race anything.

I didn't take many pictures, but here is a preview of our GT team bikes, and a very rare finish to some Stylo OCT cranks that I have been honored with, these are one of two pairs made. Purple is back.
