WORLD CHAMP Downhill results
Looks like the Athertons have become downhill champions of the World!!. Pretty rare you get a brother sister combo like this, but then again, they earned it. Elite Rainbows heading to Great Britian for the first time, ever??
My best guess would be that this Italy track is pretty similar to what they ride in their back yard in Wales; with all the roots, tight spaces, and ruts. For Rach to win by 11 seconds over Sabrina means that there were some pretty sketchy sections that she would've just pinned it through. And for Gee, he has always been fast, but think found a missing piece this year.
Dan would've been a contender for the 4x win maybe, but he is broken at the moment. Lopes is gonna bring it home for America!!
Little upset for Peaty to have come 2nd, but that will keep him in the sport for another year which is good. Sam Hill had the fastest split at the top, but came third, just missed his third world title in a row, but it doesn't change what he's done so far.
Haven't heard from Bryn yet, little worried, he had a crash as did our teammate Neethling. So I hope they are ok. Not a good feeling to wake up to:(
And also it is really hard to find out what is going on over there, sorry I am not there to give updates. Next time.
