Wheels of speed- Day 2

WILLINGEN, GERMANY
The boys were out there practicing today. Every person who came down the hill commented on the wind blowing them sideways over the jumps. At least it didn't rain too much and was a pretty nice day, for Germany:).
The organizers at this race have done a good job to host everyone; food, lodging, rad prize money, and so far everything is super chill. Expo thing going on as well
. Looking around I saw so many bike companies I have never ever heard of
.
Some fast WC guys racing here, competiton is pretty tough which is always good. Bryn, The whole Evil bikes team; matti, polcster, Stevie Smith, and Thomas Vanderham
. Team america boys; Strait, C-Dub, little Nico, then also Gee Atherton, Mic and Beaumont, Trek guys, Moorwood/Kenda crew, Riffle n Brad
, etc. They are letting amateurs qualify for pro, think the top 8 ams get to race with the pros. Kinda weird, but cool for them. Think there needs to be a law about handlebar width out there, super skinny DH bars = not cool. Elbows in= gross.
Willingen is also trying to put in a bid for another world cup, Milka chocolate has stepped in as a sponsor, but I am not so sure how that will fly bringing it back here. They have awesome crowds, gondola access, and a really healthy scene for industry, but not really world cup level venue. 4x track is the same as it has always been. Hot lapped it a few times. Wish tracks had more technical lines and jump combos, 12 well built rhythm rollers out of the gate would be a nice change into some sweet jumps and ruts, but that's just me.
Other than that, hiked the dh, saw some nice hucking, lots of euros, did my training, found Europe's only decent mexican restaurant, and also some evening lap attack on the little kiddie bmx track, which I think I am racing on tomorrow:). People have been eating A LOT of sausages too:)
