SKI & Snowboard Racing

Alpine Ski Racing is one of my most favorite sports of all time. Pretty exciting year as Vancouver is right around the corner (FEB 12) and Olympic Qualifying is under way. I know a few of the contenders, so I'm invested and cheering them on:). Sending Palmer n crew positive vibes!!. Super hard to know what's going on, but I'm sure we all will know soon enough. Here's a schedule and list of the US players.

Heading to OZ

SYDNEY, AUS
Been putting in a lot of time out in the mud, rain, and snow looking for the Sasquatch, but didn't find him, so I'm out:),, It's time to head back to Australia for some much needed sunshine and dry ground, but it's one extreme to the next- heat wave drought hot.

Excited to see our beloved Blue Mountains, Bryn's family, homies, our house, dirt bikes, and all the strange little critters that live there,,, Queueing up for next season, there will be quite a few changes for me. Will keep ya posted, but am going to give DH some serious attention:).

4 months worth of packing equalled 7 pieces of checked baggage for Bryn and I. 4 bike boxes, 2 extra large clothes bags, 1 golfbag full of spare parts, then helmets and backpacks, etc, not super convenient, but United was stoked to see us roll up to collect dem dollars.

Tricks are for kids.

My brother was telling me about some crazy BMX tricks that are being pulled. Here's one ridiculous gymnastics maneuver I'd never seen before ...double backflip tuck no hander. youtube- D.B.T.N.H.

Whistler- Day 2

WHISTLER OPENING WEEKEND
Day 2 was unbelievably sweet!!. It dumped last night, seemed like nearly a foot, the wait for lines were minimal, and quite a bit of fluffy powder was left all to ourselves. So rad!!. Beef stew has never tasted so good!! Gonna need a nap very soon. Later Whistler, back to America...

Opening day-Whistler

WHISTLER OPENING DAY
The snow ferries came early this year!!! It's been awhile for me, since we live in a summer to summer program, but this was a pleasant surprise!!. Fully enjoying snow and our close proximity to Canada. Mt.Baker got dumped on as well, but I was really excited to see our Canadian mountain bike friends shred some powder. Whistler is a trip, everyone was so excited for the mountain to open, I guess some people slept in the lift line overnight in below freezing temperatures. Come morning the line for the gondola went all the way to Earl's restaurant, which is super far, like a km.

Fall muddin'

It's been raining a lot lately. That's kinda how it goes from November onward here in the NW, but I guess I haven't been home enough in the past to really enjoy the mud. Been on a summer to summer program for quite awhile, about to leave again, but muddin' is so much fun once you get used to wearing gortex and being wet. Been covering some ground all the way to Vancouver, 3 hr radius of the best riding ever!! dark brown dirt, fall leaves cover the trails, slippery roots, technical riding with flow, and some incredible scenery.

Winter Olympic Tickets

www.2010olympictickets.net/

Get em while they're hot!! I would Love so much to see the Alpine skiing finals! $400 per seat is cheaper than I expected, but who wants to go and only see one event? The best options are those package deals that have tickets, accommodation, food, and tourist stuff built in.

I'm planning a trip to Chile in Feb for some sweet bike riding, so I think I'm S.O.L. for Winter Olympics. No free tickets even for former Medalists. Watching footage on NBC will have to be enough. I've almost had enough winter anyway, Southern Hemisphere soon...
